Malaysian Politics, A Reality Check
When I do well, you want a piece of the success. When I stumble, you offer little, or none at all. So I invest abroad — and you say I am not patriotic.
When I perform well and gain the support of the people, you say I want to take over the country. I am a minority. How exactly is that supposed to work?
Malaysia is tanah tumpahnya darahku, and still you shout that we are pendatang. Where, precisely, did you datang from? The historical record is clear enough on that point, and it does not say what you need it to say about tanah Melayu.
And if the scripture is true — if Adam and Eve are the origin of every human being who has ever lived — then tell me which of us is not a pendatang.
Halal or non-halal, once digested the food produces the same waste. That is simply fact. The label of halal or haram exists to discipline you into obedience to the words of a holy text. It was never issued to you as a weapon against people who are disciplined by their own beliefs in different ways. Refusing non-halal food does not make you a better practitioner of anything. The core of every religion is kindness, fairness and peacefulness.
The key to human values and religious belief is the same everywhere: hold good intentions, speak kindly, do good deeds. That is universal — regardless of race, regardless of religion, regardless of where a person happens to stand on a map.
And the laws that judge us after this life are the same for everyone. Your selective belief will not spare you from them.
